Avignon
Avignon was the Papal city before Rome. It is completely walled in and houses the old, completely intact Papal Palace, before the Vatican. We didn't actually go in, but apparently it is home to the skull of a pope who was shot with an arrow in the head. Avignon is also home to a killer seesaw, which provided tons of entertainment as can be seen below.

there is a song about that bridge... we learned it in fifth grade... but I guess it is pretty well known??? it is something similar to:
sur le pont d'Avignon aller danser aller danser! sur le pont d'Avignon aller something something its qutie catchy, but it thought I would let you know.
